New Computer Patient System
This autumn we embarked upon a new cloud based Patient Management System that enables us to look up our patient lists wherever we are in the world, even on our mobile phones. It is quite different to the old system that was built specially for us in 2000, so we have looked with confused expressions at our screens from time to time. However we are now reaping the benefits of a modern system with the capability of carrying all four clinics and all five practitioners on the screen at the same time.
At the forefront of the new project has been our Practice Manager, Maggie Read (Right) who has had to learn and implement a highly complex system and to patiently train practitioners and staff to use it effectively. "Our receptionists worked really hard to ensure they were conversant with the new diary system by the go-live date in September", says Maggie, "It is vastly different from the old system and all our receptionists can now see the benefits it will offer."
Text Reminders now a possibility
Not all the old information came across satisfactorily from the old system so we have had some hiccups transferring our patient reminder lists. What we will have in the very near future is the ability to send text reminders to patients, so provided we have your mobile number we should be able to notify you automatically. This will save our staff having to phone during working hours to speak to you, to leave messages with family or to voicemail you. Text reminders should be up and running by the beginning of December but we will need your mobile number.
Clinic Director Michael Copland-Griffiths (Left) been working hard to upgrade our website and it should also be operational in the first week of December.
We believe it is one of the most informative chiropractic websites on the net. It is populated with nearly 100 photographs of us all in action, showing what we do, how we do it and why we do it. We are very grateful to Andrew Desmond ( http://www.andrewdesmond.co.uk/ ) for providing almost all the action shots and portraits of every one of us at work.
If you have any questions you have always wanted to ask but never got round to please visit us on www.healthcare2k.co.uk .
If your question is not answered please let us know and Michael will endeavour to make amends on his next update!
Online Appointments in 2015
The new Computer system and the new website will allow us to offer existing patients the opportunity to log on and make your own appointments. The planned start date is the first week in January but we are getting ready now. If you would like the opportunity to make your own appointments in the New Year please email us a request on firstname.lastname@example.org and title the subject Log on Request with your name. Once the facility is up and running we will email you back with log on details.
New Faces in 2014
Merry Taylor joined us on the Front Desk late last year at Wingfield and she is often at the end of the phone when you phone in. Susi Vergottini joined Michael’s team of Chiropractic Assistants in September.
Merry gained accreditation as a Reiki Master/Teacher and ran her own Reiki Practice from 2007 until 2013. She practised mostly from home, but from time to time she worked with animals in their owners homes. Merry has worked as a journalist for a German magazine in America and also as a freelance journalist in Germany – where she met her husband, Simon. They have been married for 9 years and live locally together with their cat Lilly.
Merry’s interests include Yoga, reading, gardening and life in general!
Susi moved to the UK from South Africa in 2008. She and her husband ran their own business in South Africa and Susi was responsible for all office duties and financial matters and also for liaising with clients. Susi gained various qualifications in South Africa including Kinesiology, Quantum Energetics and Practical Herbal Applications.
Since moving to the UK, She has worked a support worker and has gained qualifications in Swedish Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Hot Stone Massage and is a full member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT). Her interests include sewing, knitting, gardening, biking and swimming.
Acupuncture at Healthcare 2000 Clinics
Kate Mosedale (Right) continues to enhance her postgraduate studies in Acupuncture and to attend course approved by the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) of which she is a member.
Congratulations to Sue Johnson
In February Sue Johnson completed twenty years with us, making her our longest serving team member.
Joining first as a Receptionist at Chippenham she embarked on training in Remedial and Sports Massage and moved over to her new role as a Chiropractic Assistant in 1998.
Our photo shows Sue's contribution being acknowledged at a recent Staff Meetingr.
This year we held two “Awareness Weeks” in conjunction with the British Chiropractic Association (BCA). April saw us providing information and advice on the effects of new technology on children with "Teenagers and Technology". This was followed in September by “A day in the life of the Spine”, featuring the sorts of things we put our spines through on a day to day basis. Copies of these information leaflets are still available in Reception or we can send them to you by email.
Plans for 2015
We are planning to keep our new website regularly updated with news articles and advice - the target is at least two new entries every month.
We shall let you know on the website the moment the new ONLINE BOOKING date is fixed. In the meantime please let us know your details so they will be there ready for you to log in when we have a start date.
Suggestions Box : We are planning to provide a Suggestions Box at our Wingfield and Chippenham clinic locations. We still welcome suggestions for improvement at Melksham and Corsham but as these clinics are shared with GP practices it would be too confusing to put our boxes in the midst of a GP waiting area. Feel free to let us know your thoughts by emailing us on email@example.com .
Testimonials: We would also welcome your support in adding testimonials to our new website. We have never gone out to seek them in the past, so the testimonials you will see on our new site have been received as spontaneous gifts from happy patients. We would like to add more, so if you feel particularly pleased with what we have been able to do for you please let us know. This way we can encourage others to take their first step in helping to get well and stay well through Chiropractic.
